About the Job

We are looking for someone with in-depth expertise in bioinformatics focused on parasitology. You have experience working with species that are not model organisms and with genomes that are not yet well characterized, as well as an interest in mapping induced immune responses.

Your Background

You have documented experience in:

• Analysis of RNA sequencing data
• Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS)
• Processing and visualizing complex datasets
• Collaboration with researchers in parasitology and immunology to integrate bioinformatics results into ongoing projects
• You must have a PhD in a relevant area for the position
• Documented experience in RNA-seq analyses and GWAS
• You should have good skills in relevant bioinformatics tools and programming languages (e.g., R, Python)
• Experience working with various species, such as Parascaris univalens and Toxocara canis, which are not common model organisms, is an advantage
• The applicant should be experienced in handling genomes (genomic sequence data) that are incompletely characterized or annotated

Location:

Uppsala

Employment Type:

Hourly paid employment; specific fixed-term employment. This means you will be offered work for shorter periods during the time specified below under the heading "scope". You can accept or decline each opportunity you are offered work. When you accept one or more job opportunities, a new employment contract will be established for those occasions.

Scope:

The employment covers approximately 100 hours during the period from January 1 to June 30, 2026. The work will involve about 10 hours of work per week.
