The County Hospital Somatics coordinates the county's healthcare for specialized somatic care in Region Västernorrland. The somatic area consists of eleven county healthcare services. The county healthcare services are operated at three hospitals: Sundsvall, Sollefteå, and Örnsköldsvik, along with several clinics located in various towns in the county. The area employs approximately 2,400 staff. The Eye area is part of the county hospital somatics and provides specialized eye care for the county's residents. We have full outpatient services at three locations in the county: Sollefteå, Sundsvall, and Örnsköldsvik. We also have limited outpatient services in Härnösand. Our mission is to investigate, treat, and operate on diseases of and around the eye. In total, we have nearly 100 employees in the county, where several professional categories work closely together with the patient at the center.

Would you like to be part of our team? We are now looking for a junior doctor for the eye clinic in Sundsvall for a temporary position of 3-6 months starting in the spring of 2026, with a possibility of extension. The employment rate is negotiable but between 50-100%.

Junior Doctor for the Eye Clinic, Sundsvall Job Responsibilities

The work as a junior doctor with us is independent but with guidance from experienced colleagues. This temporary position as a junior doctor is a great opportunity for you who want to grow and develop in your medical role. We offer a good working environment with competent and positive colleagues from various professional categories with extensive knowledge and experience. You will perform standard tasks as a junior doctor in ophthalmology.

We are looking for someone who

• Is a licensed physician
• Has good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
• Has good knowledge of English in both spoken and written form

It is an advantage for the position if you

• Have work experience in eye care
