The Nature Schools Svenljunga, Sötåsen, Uddetorp, and the Biological Vocational College serve as competence centers for the growth and development of the green industries. Together with industry and researchers, the administration drives energy projects and experimental activities at the forefront in the schools. Description

In the scenic Sötåsen outside Töreboda, you will find a center for ecological and sustainable nature management.

Here we conduct organic and KRAV-approved farming with the help of a solid fleet of machinery and the latest technology for sustainable crop cultivation. The school has 260 hectares of arable land, 115 hectares of its own forest, and organic vegetable gardens in the open air. We also have smaller greenhouses. On the farm, there are 65 dairy cows, 60 young animals, 45 ewes with lambs, and 40 sows with piglets. Here at Sötåsen, you can study the Nature Management Program with specializations in agriculture, animals, and gardening. The school also has an adapted high school and adult education.

Responsibilities

As operational staff in the garden, you will be responsible for open-air vegetable cultivation where the purpose of the operation is primarily to create a good teaching environment and to produce vegetables for the administration's kitchen. You will participate in planning and working with the cultivation of vegetables both in the open air and in greenhouses together with other staff and students at the school. You will also be involved in harvesting and storing vegetables as well as delivering vegetables to the school's kitchen. The position will involve both solo work and collaboration with colleagues and students. Guiding students is part of the job. In cultivation and harvesting in the open field, we largely use machines. Manual labor occurs. The work is varied, developmental, and requires precision.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of vegetable cultivation.
• Experience with machinery and a willingness to learn special machines for vegetable cultivation.
• Driving license B for manual transmission.
• We are looking for a person with good collaboration skills, flexible and unpretentious.
• We place great importance on personal suitability.

Meritorious

• Pesticide applicator certificate
• Operator license for wheel loader

Conditions
