The Community Building and Labor Market Unit is responsible for the municipality's real estate portfolio, which includes buildings as well as forest and green areas. The unit has a strategic coordination responsibility for the municipality's forests, parks, playgrounds, bathing areas, and hiking trails.

The unit also works with labor market issues and integration, with the mission to provide support and create conditions for individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and, in the long run, reduce the risk of social exclusion for individuals. This work also includes creating conditions for individuals to have meaningful and sometimes adapted employment, which contributes to making Dals-Ed an attractive place to live.

We are now looking for a new team member.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a gardener, you will work with everything from maintaining parks and green areas to partially establishing or developing existing outdoor environments and meadow areas. You will work with ongoing maintenance according to the season. You are expected to be able to produce maintenance plans and routine documents for care.

Examples of tasks include:

• Lawn mowing, trimming, plant care, and weeding flower beds and plantings
• Soil improvement, hedge trimming, pruning of trees, hedges, and bushes
• Fertilizing, weeding, clearing brush, etc.

With your knowledge of plants and growing conditions, you can plan for the planting of shrubs and perennials. You can also plan new developments or improvements of parks, social meeting places, and green areas, as well as produce maintenance plans based on an annual planning cycle.

During the winter months, the work will largely consist of clearing brush, planning for the summer season, and maintaining park benches, barbecue areas, trail markings, etc. You will also work with snow removal and ice control.

The role includes collaborating with other parts of the unit as well as with other departments within Dals-Eds Municipality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for someone with relevant education in park and/or garden management and ongoing maintenance. You are self-driven, proactive, and able to plan and prioritize your tasks independently. You are flexible, service-oriented, and have a good demeanor. We also see that you have good collaboration skills and find it both enjoyable and important to work in public administration. To succeed in the role, you need to be able to inspire, engage, and find solutions and opportunities. You are driven, responsible, meticulous, and have a holistic view. Additionally, we see that you have the ability to develop the skills of colleagues and employees in both your own unit and other units within the area of park maintenance.

The work also involves mentoring individuals within the labor market unit's mission, so we see that you have the ability to show interest and understanding for others and can share your knowledge and skills in a pedagogical manner.

You need to be able to operate a brush cutter, but it is also advantageous if you have a chainsaw license and experience in forest management and knowledge of driving a tractor with a forest trailer.

A B driver's license is required.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
