The Position and Responsibilities

As a school social worker, you will be part of the school's health team, focusing on promoting, preventing, and addressing issues while creating a good environment for students' health, development, and learning based on proven research.

Your role includes working preventively and reactively against bullying, discrimination, and abusive treatment. You will conduct supportive and motivational conversations with individual students and groups, conflict resolution discussions, and social investigations and assessments. You will engage in value-based work and participate in planning, establishing, and implementing action plans within the value-based work. You will be available for advice and consultation on various issues. A natural part of your work involves contact with students, guardians, and staff, as well as collaboration with external organizations outside the school, such as social services, child and adolescent psychiatry, and habilitation, etc. You will set boundaries based on your assignment and prioritize your tasks according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's directives. You will also participate in the local crisis group alongside school management.

You have a naturally respectful approach to people's differences and prioritize safe and good relationships while sharing the school's core values. You have the ability to identify and create opportunities for change and development at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You also need to be able to manage and prioritize various types of cases and tasks. Flexibility is your guiding principle, and you have a good ability to vary your methods and approaches based on needs.

The position is a temporary contract from 2026-03-01 to 2027-06-30 for the current school social worker who will be on parental leave.

We Offer You

At Tullinge High School, the social worker is a professional in the school's health team (social worker, school nurse, two special educators, two career counselors, school psychologist, and two assistant principals) where we work together with a focus on students' achievement. The work is conducted with students at both group and individual levels, either alone or with others, in a preventive, promoting, and solution-oriented manner. The health team collaborates with the school's educational staff around students and classes, and the school is engaged in intensive efforts to implement interventions more quickly through direct contact with teaching staff to achieve the highest possible student achievement. The responsibilities also include working with the health team and school management to manage and drive the school's plan against abusive treatment.

Tullinge High School is undergoing a significant renovation and expansion, which is expected to be completed by the start of the school year in 2026. This creates a unique environment for high school education both internally and externally. The number of students is set to increase from 730 to 1100, which provides good opportunities for continued employment after the temporary position as the health professions will be expanded.

The position is a temporary contract for a parental leave replacement for the regular school social worker. Skyttbrink High School has a need for a school social worker during the spring semester of 2026, which means we have divided this position with 80% at Tullinge High School and 20% at Skyttbrink High School from 2026-03-01 to 2026-06-30. From 2026-07-01 until the end of the temporary position on 2027-06-30, the position will be solely at Tullinge High School.

Who You Are

Requirements: - Degree in Social Work
- Excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Digital competence for documentation and other administrative tasks

Meritorious: - Experience working as a school social worker, especially in high school
- Good knowledge of the Education Act and Social Services Act
- Experience with ProRenata
- Experience with DF response
- Other language skills
- Experience working in municipal services
