Care Assistant, Child Care Assistant, Nursing Assistant, and Caregiver, Summer Temporary Positions

Visby Hospital is Gotland's only hospital and includes units for both emergency and planned care.

We are looking for summer temporary staff for all round-the-clock operations and some outpatient clinics. Working hours will be arranged based on agreement and will vary between day, evening, night, weekdays, and weekends.

Your Responsibilities

As a care assistant/child care assistant/nursing assistant/caregiver, you will work in the team around the patient, where you, together with other professionals such as nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists, will provide patient care and treatment.

Your primary role will be to work closely with patients in general care, assess and perform nursing measures in consultation with the nurse, and participate in and support the patient in self-care and the activities defined in the individual care plan. Depending on which unit you work in, tasks will vary, focusing on more practical care, medical technical tasks, or more communicative, supportive roles for well-being, mental health, and managing symptoms and difficulties in the patient's daily life.

Work in emergency care often involves a fast pace and prioritization of tasks depending on the situation.

Who Are You?

We expect you to be a trained care assistant/child care assistant/nursing assistant/caregiver or have equivalent education. Previous experience in emergency care/psychiatric care, as well as practical experience in a specific area of operation, is an advantage.

The work requires collaboration, interaction, communication, and flexibility in prioritizing tasks based on the needs of healthcare. Therefore, it is important that you are confident in the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
