Assistant Nurse at the Eye Clinic

As an assistant nurse with us at the eye clinic, you will be offered a stimulating, developing, and exciting job.

Your tasks will vary between working in the operating room, preparing patients for doctor visits, working in the day department, and administrative tasks such as booking patients for the clinic. Your role with us is important as you are often the first contact and meeting point between the patient and our organization. You will meet new colleagues from various professions who collaborate closely, and you will be welcomed into an engaging work environment and a workplace culture where you have the opportunity to take responsibility and contribute to the development of the clinic's work moving forward. Your working hours are scheduled from Monday to Friday. The position is a temporary contract until January 2027.

About You

For this position, we are looking for someone who is a trained assistant nurse and has good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. We see that you are a positive person, flexible, and engaged, seeing opportunities rather than obstacles. You have a good attitude towards everyone you meet, both patients and colleagues, and you see collaboration as a given. You enjoy taking responsibility and are driven, with no issues taking initiatives or making decisions when necessary. Our team works to continuously create the best results for the patient while focusing on the future and the development of our operations and clinic. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Your Future Workplace

The Eye Clinic in Västervik provides specialized eye care to the residents of northern Kalmar County. The clinic consists of eye outpatient clinics in Västervik, Vimmerby, and Oskarshamn, as well as a day department and operating department. We have about 50 employees with various competencies; doctors, eye nurses, nurses, optometrists, orthoptists, assistant nurses, and medical secretaries. The largest volumes for the clinic are diagnostics and treatment of cataracts and glaucoma, diabetes-related changes treated with laser, diseases of the macula, and eye diseases in children. At the outpatient clinic, investigations and treatments of diseases in and around the eye are conducted. The largest volume in the operating department is cataract surgery, and treatment for macular degeneration has been introduced in recent years.
