About the workplace

We are now looking for a department head for the new department for quality and development in the preschool and primary school administration.

We are looking for someone who wants to lead and develop the administration's quality and development functions in a joint support organization.

Job responsibilities

As a Department Head, you have strategic and operational responsibility to lead and coordinate the work towards the Preschool and Primary School Committee. You are also responsible for ensuring that the administration's support functions are conducted efficiently, legally, and in accordance with political goals and steering documents.

Responsibilities included in the position are:

  • Coordination, quality assurance, and preparation of matters for the committee
  • Ensure that support functions contribute to the goals of the operations and follow established guidelines and quality requirements
  • Actively contribute to the administration's strategic development and long-term planning

In the role of department head, you report directly to the head of administration and are part of the administration's management group.

Who are we looking for

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has very good knowledge of steering documents, laws, and regulations within the operational area
  • Has experience with qualified investigative work
  • Has the ability to implement decisions made
  • Has good initiative and can drive processes responsibly and in a structured manner
  • Is a stable, responsive, and communicative person who sees collaboration as a given

Qualifications

  • Law degree and several years of experience in legal work.
  • Documented experience of having worked with practical handling in direct connection to a political committee.
  • Experience of being a manager over support functions within development, administration, and finance.
  • Very good ability to express oneself in speech and writing.

Meritorious

  • Experience of having designed and implemented competence development initiatives for employees within an administrative operation.
  • Experience of having been a manager over managers.

For positions where teaching certification/examination certificates/study certificates are required, these must be submitted before employment.

For positions where the work involves direct and regular contact with children and young people, as well as for activities within LSS, care and nursing, health care, psychiatric care, and addiction treatment, a valid extract from the police criminal record must be presented or submitted before employment.
