Highly Specialized Care for Patients with Difficult-to-Treat Eating Disorders

Akademiska sjukhuset has been assigned, as one of three hospitals in Sweden, to provide national highly specialized care for patients with difficult-to-treat eating disorders. Therefore, a unique opportunity is now available for you with high competence in psychological treatment to become part of this exciting work. The operation has been running for almost two years and is in an ongoing process of establishing the new level of care within psychiatry. Do you want to join us on this journey?

Our Operations

The eating disorder care within child and adolescent psychiatry exists in outpatient, day care, and inpatient settings. Our expanded assignment regarding national highly specialized care comes from the National Board of Health and Welfare and involves assessment for continued treatment, providing round-the-clock care under special conditions, and being responsible for parts of the subsequent follow-up for patients who have been offered treatment. Given that the patients in this unit have difficult-to-treat eating disorders, it requires individual adaptation and frequent assessments/evaluations of treatment outcomes.

Your Mission

In your role, together with your colleagues, you will conduct assessments and plan and implement treatment within round-the-clock care/NHV. In your role as a psychologist/psychotherapist/experienced practitioner, you are expected to have a central role in the treatment work and ensure the treatment processes in specific cases as well as the development of general content in care and methods in treatment. You will participate in quality work within your area of expertise and work with evaluation, development of care processes, and implementation of evidence-based care. In the interdisciplinary team, you will work together with doctors, psychologists, specialist nurses, nurses, nursing assistants, caregivers, social workers, dietitians, and physiotherapists. You will also have close collaboration with colleagues in outpatient care.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with relevant higher education with training/competence in psychotherapy/psychological treatment. You may be a licensed psychologist or have another higher education with further training in psychotherapy/psychological treatment. Suitable higher education combined with extensive experience in relevant treatment work can be assessed as equivalent. The important thing is that you can take on a role as a senior practitioner in the unit. Experience with the current patient group or other complex and difficult-to-treat psychiatric issues is highly meritorious. It is also advantageous if you have previously worked with patients in round-the-clock care.

You are a person who can successfully balance structure with creativity/flexibility. In addition to your professional expertise, you are an engaged and positive colleague who inspires others and contributes to a good working environment. The work also requires a good ability to endure.
