Care Assistant at Österäng Elderly Home

Do you want to work at a smaller and family-oriented elderly home where both residents and employees feel comfortable and safe? At Österäng, you will encounter a good atmosphere, close to nature, and a warm community – where relationships and interactions truly matter.

There are four departments with 7–8 residents in each. The size of the departments allows you to get to know each person and provide care based on individual needs, wishes, and privacy. We have our own kitchen that contributes to a homely atmosphere and pleasant meal times for the residents.

In elderly care in Vetlanda municipality, we work for Esther's best – always focusing on the user and how we can enhance their safety and independence.

As a care assistant, you will support the elderly in their daily lives – socially, culturally, and physically. You will have a varied job where you are an important part of a team together with nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. We help each other across departmental boundaries, support each other when needed, and are never hesitant to call one another.

As part of the operation, we work with organized activities where we bake, play bingo, sing, read, and do gymnastics together. We also have service assistants who relieve you care assistants.

The user survey shows that residents feel safe, well-treated, and appreciate their daily lives at Österäng – something we are proud of and actively work to maintain.

Here you will meet a safe and engaged staff group that describes the workplace as charming, fun, and filled with good camaraderie. We see each other, greet, joke, and are loyal both to colleagues and the mission. If you are new, we will take care of you – and you have access to supportive management that is there when needed.

The positions are permanent employment at 80–100 percent, depending on what we agree upon. Start date according to agreement. Currently, the schedule involves working every other weekend, but the plan is to reduce the number of weekends in 2026.
