The Role of Clinical Department Mentor

In your role, you will work as a mentor and pedagogical support for nurses on our wards. The role also includes clinical work to support, act as a sounding board, and guide nurses regarding daily work in patient-centered care. You will be responsible for the setup and implementation of introductions, follow-ups, and initiating educational efforts and improvement areas within patient safety and quality work. Furthermore, you will ensure that we follow routines and guidelines in our work.

Surgical Department G and H is a dynamic workplace with a high pace and a good mix of new nurses and experienced staff in surgical care. We consciously work to create the best conditions for newly graduated nurses with mentorship and training. There are good development opportunities in surgical care for both novices and experienced staff with tailored training from the region and through universities. In Värnamo, there are two inpatient units with different focuses on surgical specialties. There is also a surgical/endoscopy clinic, where patients are examined and treated in upper/lower gastroenterology, general surgery, abdominal and breast plastic surgery, and endocrinology. We also have a stoma clinic. The surgical clinic is a regional clinic with operations in Jönköping, Eksjö, and Värnamo. Your Profile

We are looking for a licensed nurse with a broad base of knowledge in surgical care. You have good pedagogical skills and are genuinely interested in mentoring and developing nurses' competencies. One of your strengths is the ability to adapt teaching to individual needs. As a person, you have good collaboration skills, can conduct pedagogical assessments, and have a clear patient focus, where you can make independent assessments.
