Welcome to us

As a preschool assistant, you are employed by the City of Stockholm with placement in a preschool unit.

As an employee of the City of Stockholm, you actively contribute to developing the operations, are familiar with the goals and governing documents of the operations, both national and local, as part of the systematic quality work.

Gröndal Preschools is a unit in the Hägersten-Älvsjö district administration with a total of eight preschools, all with beautiful yards and proximity to forests and green areas: The unit includes the preschools Bryggan, Gröndalsgården, Hamngården Karlavagnen, Rosteriet, Sjöbjörnen, Udden, and Viken. The unit is led by a principal, three assistant principals, and an administrator.

Our preschools are places where children have access to a stimulating learning environment with opportunities for various meetings, creative creation, exploration, and challenges that stimulate learning. Working with children's influence and responsibility is an important part of our work. We see the potential in every child and start from the assumption that all children are competent, curious, and eager to learn.

We place great emphasis on a value-based and positive approach where relationship-building and good meetings with both children, guardians, and colleagues are central.

Your role

As a preschool assistant, you are an important part of the team that ensures that the daily life at the preschool runs smoothly and that care and daily educational work are based on children's participation. Together with other colleagues at the preschool, you contribute to creating a positive, meaningful, and developing environment both in the children's group and for each individual child. You are active in your relationship with the children and in their play. We work both outdoors and indoors throughout the year.

In the role of preschool assistant, you act in accordance with the curriculum, set goals, and guidelines. You will participate in the pedagogical development work and perform pedagogical documentation daily. You will also continuously participate in planning and evaluating the work at the preschool. As a preschool assistant, you contribute at parent meetings and development discussions. In meetings with guardians, you communicate well and act professionally.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

• preschool assistant education
• at least 1-3 years of experience working as a preschool assistant
• experience working with pedagogical documentation
• good knowledge of the Swedish language both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience working with digital tools together with children
• experience working with children with disabilities

We are looking for someone who is self-driven and takes responsibility for independently driving tasks forward. You are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. You have a clear child focus and are engaged in their development and learning. You have a positive attitude in your work and good collaboration skills as you will work closely with your colleagues. You act professionally and can distinguish between personal and professional matters.
