Your tasks include preparing patients for doctor visits, and you may also have telephone counseling and your own glaucoma and photo reception. Additional tasks may arise based on the needs of the operation. Among other things, work in surgery, where you assist doctors, and there is also the possibility of being trained to administer certain injections yourself. If you are interested in further development, there is an opportunity to apply for a paid training to become an ophthalmic nurse. About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse with an interest in or specialized training in ophthalmic care. As a person, you are positive and have the ability to structure and take responsibility for your work. We also see that you have a willingness to collaborate to create the best outcome for the patient and that a good approach is important to you. Our team works with the aim of providing the patient with good and safe care. Now we are looking for you who want to help further develop our operations - together. We value your personal qualities very highly. To succeed in the role, you also need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language both in speech and writing. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. The position is scheduled during the day from Monday to Friday, but rotation to the department may occur.

The Eye Clinic is a safe workplace with a good working environment. Here, there is a varied workgroup that works well together, has a good community, and effectively meets large challenges. In Västervik, specialized ophthalmic care is provided to the residents of northern Kalmar County. The clinic consists of eye outpatient clinics in Västervik, Vimmerby, and Oskarshamn, as well as a day department and surgical department. About 50 employees with different competencies work with us; doctors, ophthalmic nurses, registered nurses, optometrists, orthoptists, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries. The largest volumes for the clinic are diagnostics and treatment of cataracts and glaucoma, diabetes changes treated with laser, diseases of the macula, and eye diseases in children. At the outpatient clinic, investigations and treatments of diseases in and around the eye are conducted. In the surgical department, the largest volume is cataract surgery, where the number of operations varies but is around 1700 per year.
