We are now looking for a family supporter with drive, commitment, and collaboration skills – do you want to make a difference?

Södertälje Municipality has invested for several years in providing early and easily accessible support and is now seeking a new employee to our growing team at Family Support. Family Support is part of the First Line Support and consists of family supporters aimed at families with school-aged children. The unit also includes two family centers that, in collaboration with the region's child health centers and midwifery clinics, work with families with children aged 0-5 years.
We are now looking for a family supporter who will primarily work with school-aged children. The position is a permanent employment.
Our operations offer interventions without needs assessment and right now we have a strong focus on collaboration with our municipal schools and outreach work to reach more families. Our vision is that all families in Södertälje should know that they can turn to us when they need help. Family Support is a unit, which means that you will be well-informed about the entire operation and have the opportunity to help where needed.
 

Your tasks

With us, you will have a varied and meaningful assignment where you have significant influence over how you structure your day. You will, among other things: 

- Plan and conduct parent groups and child groups 
- Hold advisory and support conversations with families, children, and adolescents 
- Actively collaborate with primary schools and other actors who meet children and adolescents.
- Give lectures
- Work outreach to reach more families in need of support. 
- Guide families to the right intervention when other actors need to be involved.
- Monitor the environment

Many of our group activities take place in the evenings, giving you the chance to meet participants when it suits them best – after school and work hours. During the school terms, this often means one to two evenings a week, and sometimes weekend work may also occur. We see this as a valuable opportunity to help create meaningful meetings and activities when they are truly needed. 
 

Who are you?

The operation is in a development phase, and we need you who think innovatively and want to drive positive changes. You are good at utilizing time and seeing what can be done while keeping the overall mission in focus and collaborating with others in the team.

- Good at collaboration
- Flexible and creative in your working methods 
- Independent and proactive – you drive your work forward 
- Unpretentious and practical – you are happy to help where needed 

Requirements:
- Degree in social work or another degree at the bachelor's level. 
- Experience working with children, youth, and their families.
- B driver's license 

Meritorious:
- Training in group activities such as ABC, Komet, Parenting in Sweden, child groups, or Coping Power Program 
- Experience collaborating with other professionals.
- Cultural competence
- Multilingualism
