Personal Assistant with Experience in Low-Affect Approach and Autism Needed for Summer Job!

We are now looking for a proactive and initiative-taking personal assistant who wants to make a difference in someone's daily life this summer! Do you have experience with low-affect approaches and autism? Are you also empathetic, secure, and warm as a person? Then this might be the job for you!

About the Assignment

Our client is a man in his 40s living in his own house in Bodafors, a bit outside Nässjö. He has autism and displays challenging behavior, which means he needs support in his daily life. As his assistant, you will help with personal care, household chores, cooking, medication, and support during daily activities and other events. Since he lives in his own house, some tasks related to gardening and home maintenance are also included. Walks are part of the daily routine and can vary from a short trip around the block to longer excursions in nature.

Our client has a great interest in music and plays the piano daily, so if you share his passion for music, that is a big plus. He also enjoys activities like folk dancing and music cafés, where he often participates with double assistance. As he does not have verbal communication but expresses himself through gestures, body language, and sounds, it is important that you as an assistant are attentive and responsive to understand his needs and signals.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who is empathetic, secure, and calm, while also being patient and attentive to their surroundings. You have the ability to read different situations and adapt to the client's needs and signals. Taking initiative and motivating others is a given for you, and you work both independently and well in collaboration with others, which is important since double assistance occurs. Experience with low-affect approaches and working with autism is advantageous, as well as other previous experiences in personal assistance.

You need to have a driver's license and access to your own car as public transport is limited during working hours. Our client also has his own car that you will sometimes drive in your role as an assistant.

Working hours: Day, evening, weekend, sleeping on-call (4h waiting time), and sometimes full shifts
