Your Workplace

The hospital in Torsby is an emergency hospital in northern Värmland with approximately 50 beds. The hospital has an operating department, intensive care, intermediate care, recovery, mobile team, outpatient services, and emergency reception. The hospital is relatively small, but has a wide catchment area for about 40,000 residents and many tourists, with a distance of about 11 miles to the Central Hospital in Karlstad. This means that the spectrum of diseases is varied and broad, and you will quickly gain good knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of the most common diseases.

Your Tasks

For us, it is important that you feel you have a valuable role in our workgroup.

We are now looking for three junior doctors for internal medicine, two for surgery/orthopedics, and two for nephrology for summer temporary positions in 2026. As a junior doctor with us, you will work with regular tasks on the wards and partially in the emergency department. The work involves individual responsibility under supervision.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for you who, by spring 2026, have completed at least semester 10 of your medical education in Sweden or another EU/EEA country, or have graduated from your medical education in Sweden or another EU/EEA country. You must have passed the courses and exams within the medical field that the temporary position concerns. You also need to have a passing grade in SVA3, C1, or eligibility for higher education studies, or a passing knowledge test.

As a person, you are outgoing, have good collaborative skills, and enjoy taking responsibility together with the rest of the team, focusing on high patient safety and quality of care. You are an initiative-taker, clear, structured, and have a good pedagogical approach.
