Your workplace

The clinic is organized within the Adult Psychiatry area in Region Värmland. In addition to the clinic in Kristinehamn, there is psychiatric outpatient care in Hagfors, Torsby, Arvika, Säffle, and Karlstad. The psychiatric clinic in Kristinehamn is centrally located, with a short commuting distance to both Karlstad and Karlskoga.

We run our unit in close interdisciplinary collaboration and with dedicated specialist doctors. We are a stable and well-functioning clinic with low staff turnover across all professional categories. You will work in a clinic with a good and supportive work environment, with clear and established routines. With us, you will work in a team with high competence that cares about the patient's best interests. At the Kristinehamn clinic, in addition to senior physicians, there are specialist nurses and registered nurses, as well as training doctors, social workers, medical administrators, psychologists, and occupational therapists.

Your tasks

We are looking for a temporary junior doctor with an interest in psychiatry to support our clinic during the summer of 2026. You will work with a clear and defined work structure that includes medical follow-up and treatment under the supervision of our senior physicians. We operate across three municipalities with clinics in Kristinehamn and Filipstad, but as a junior doctor, your work will be centered in Kristinehamn.

You will be offered a good introduction and continuous supervision from our specialists. Your tasks will include tailored visits coordinated with your supervisor for each visit, as well as participation in the clinic's treatment conferences. We are a fully staffed clinic across all professional categories and value our interdisciplinary approach, which you as a junior doctor will also be an integral part of. Our operations are dynamic and based on the needs of the patients.

Your knowledge and competencies

You are a licensed physician, or approved up to and including semester 10 or further in your medical studies. If you are graduated or licensed from a non-European country, you must have the authorization to work as a doctor in Sweden. If you are studying medicine abroad, the requirement is that you study within the EU. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. We place great importance on personal suitability. The role requires you to be confident and responsible, have the ability to build good relationships and collaborate in a team, and demonstrate good judgment in your assessments and decisions.
