Your Workplace

The hospital in Arvika is a smaller county hospital with western Värmland as its primary catchment area. The largest operations are internal medicine and orthopedic inpatient and outpatient care. The acute assignments differ somewhat between the operations. In addition, there are several clinics including psychiatry, dialysis, ENT, and ophthalmology. We collaborate with the Central Hospital in Karlstad as well as with university hospitals, primarily in Örebro, Uppsala, and Gothenburg.

In the area, we also have several health centers. The health center is the foundation of healthcare in Värmland and offers care at all stages of life. Additionally, we provide specialized home care.

Your Tasks

The tasks as a junior doctor vary depending on which operation you work in. The work involves individual responsibility under supervision. We believe that healthcare must be based on our patients' needs and the competence of our staff.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for you who will complete at least the 10th semester of your medical education in Sweden or another EU/EEA country by spring 2026 or have graduated from your medical education in Sweden or another EU/EEA country. You must have passed the courses and exams in the medical field that the temporary position concerns. You also need to have passed grades in SVA3, C1, or eligibility for higher education studies alternatively passed knowledge test.

As a person, you are outgoing, have good collaboration skills, and enjoy taking responsibility together with the rest of the team with a focus on high patient safety and quality in care. You are an initiator, clear, structured, and have a good pedagogical approach.
