Kriminalvården is looking for a Security Officer

Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand prisons, and client transports.

The Kristianstad operational area is part of Kriminalvården's Southern region and currently includes the Kristianstad prison, located about 10 km south of Kristianstad. Currently, the prison has about 145 inmates and 120 employees. We are undergoing a significant capacity increase, and there is a lot happening in the operational area both in terms of renovations and new constructions. In a few years, the new prison Vä is expected to accommodate about 600 inmates and have 500 employees. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but we also have healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, and more.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Security Officer, you will report to a correctional inspector and be part of the local security organization. The work involves both administrative and operational security-related issues. You will have an advisory role regarding security towards the management team and other workgroups and participate in security forums both internally and externally.

We are looking for someone who has the ability to think strategically and has a broad perspective on the world. You can switch between strategic and operational issues and see the long-term significance and further consequences of matters while adapting your actions accordingly. You have the initiative to work independently but also collaboratively with others to achieve results in complex issues that may arise in your daily work.

In the role of Security Officer, you will largely work with monitoring and quality assurance of security-related work. You will plan, implement, follow up, and register security work and have a coordinating role in the operational area.

Your responsibilities will include:

• establishing local work routines and local instructions for the security manual.
• acting as the local ISAP coordinator (reporting system).
• conducting supervision and control within the operational area regarding security work in collaboration with management.
• coordinating the work with systematic fire protection efforts.
• being responsible for local security meetings.
• managing the ordering, storage, and inventory of security equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in security or equivalent education or experience that Kriminalvården deems equivalent.
• Completed and approved correctional education.
• Documented experience in the areas of SBA, information security, technical/physical security, local instructions, and routines.
• Excellent knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
• Good computer skills.
• Driver's license B.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Several years of documented experience working with security issues in Kriminalvården.
• Relevant language skills.
