JOB DESCRIPTION
This advertisement is primarily aimed at those who are currently students or conscripts. Perhaps you are studying to become a police officer and wish to gain more practical knowledge in interacting with people, or you are studying criminology or behavioral sciences and want a deeper understanding of individuals? Secure a summer position now where you can work hours before the summer and have the opportunity for extension after the summer. The work is full-time during the summer.
Working as a correctional officer means you can make a difference for others and contribute to a better society. To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in human development. This is a summer job that provides you with a lifetime of experience.
Work at the remand facility is often routine-oriented and focused on care and security tasks. Our detainees may be held for long periods without meeting anyone other than their lawyer and the staff at the remand facility. This places special demands on you as a correctional officer.
This job is for you if you are looking for varied security work. Together with your colleagues, you will conduct daily operations. Duties include monitoring, meal distribution, and searches, combined with isolation-breaking measures such as daily contact/conversations and motivational work with our detainees. Since some documentation is required, it is important that you can express yourself well in writing.
You need to have good self-awareness, integrity, stability, clear communication skills, and share the values of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. The work may require you to intervene physically if the situation demands it to protect yourself, a colleague, or a detainee.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service operates 24/7, year-round. You will work days, evenings, and weekends. Some schedules include night shifts.
