THE UNIT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES works with authority exercises for all individuals with some form of disability under 65 years in Ekerö municipality. The unit consists of two teams with 5 caseworkers each and a team leader; one team investigates applications and follows up on services for individuals with social psychiatry and neuropsychiatry. The other team investigates and follows up on services for individuals with intellectual disabilities or some form of mobility impairment/illness. In addition, the unit has a housing and contract coordinator and a unit manager.

We are now looking for caseworkers for the team that handles applications for LSS services for children. In the unit, we have made significant progress with children’s rights work. We have developed child-friendly materials in the form of invitations to meetings, letters that provide feedback after decisions, and a child-friendly brochure that informs about LSS services and how an investigation is conducted. We have reduced the number of cases per caseworker to have time to involve all children in a structured manner. We have regular check-ins and support each other as needed.

We are centrally located in Ekerö center, 15 minutes from Brommaplan or 5 minutes from the ferry terminal Jungfrusund (Ekeröleden).
With us, you will work with the following tasks:
- Authority exercise, qualified investigations, and assessments of applications according to LSS
- Collaboration with both external and internal partners to strengthen the individual’s opportunities to live an independent life
- Opportunity to actively participate in developing the unit’s quality and development work.
We work with regular case supervision in groups and apply mentorship for new employees. You have regular check-ins with your manager. We have external process supervision and legal support. We apply flexible working hours, and there is the possibility to work partially remotely when the work allows.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- a university degree in social work
- previous experience of authority exercise
- knowledge of applicable legislation within SoL and LSS
- good computer skills (e.g., Office 365)
It is meritorious if you have experience with MI conversation methodology.
