About the American High School
The American High School was founded based on a strong educational idea. Our guiding star is that “we work to ensure that our students and staff reach their full potential.” We therefore work with both knowledge development and personal development. Our culture is characterized by clear rules with care. We call it “frames and hugs.” The school operations are organized to prepare students for an international labor market in a rapidly changing world, which is why our logo reads “Get Ready for the World.”
Everything that happens at the school is based on our four core values: Courage, Kindness, Knowledge & Curiosity, and Grit. In classrooms and corridors, interactions between students and staff are characterized by behaviors derived from these values. We work closely with students and always prioritize their best interests.

About the Position
We are looking for a special educator/special teacher. As a special educator/special teacher, you are part of the school's student health team and an important part of the promotional and preventive work. You also work operationally to support teachers in teaching situations, where classroom visits are an important part on a daily basis. You ensure that students receive the right support and that teachers have the right knowledge to structure their teaching so that it becomes accessible to all students.

In collaboration with teachers and guardians, you provide support in adapting studies for students. You establish action plans and conduct investigations, such as pedagogical assessments, as needed. You also support school leaders in school development issues and actively participate in the school's development work. You will assist students with structure, planning, and study techniques. We expect you to have good familiarity with compensatory aids and competence regarding digital learning tools.
The position is a permanent employment of 50-100%, depending on whether you can combine the roles of special educator and special teacher. Otherwise, it may be relevant to separate the roles. The employment begins with a probationary period of 6 months. Start date by agreement.
