Your New Job

As a pastry chef at Café Stallgården, which is part of Rosenlund Manor & Rosarium, you will be part of Jönköping Municipality's internal conference facility.

We serve our conference guests breakfast, lunch, and snacks, where we bake everything ourselves on-site, both bread and pastries. You will be part of a team consisting of hosts who manage the conference operations at the manor, as well as several colleagues working in other cafés within our operations.

You will also be involved in the operation of our summer café from May to September. During the summer, when the rosarium is at its most beautiful, we pause the conference activities and instead focus on café operations; welcoming bus groups, conducting guided tours, organizing events, and hosting walking theater. Café Stallgården welcomes young people from all over Jönköping Municipality every year who are summer working or doing their internship. An important part of the role is therefore to mentor and support these young people in their work.

In the role of pastry chef, you will work independently with great creative freedom. You will produce pastries, sandwich cakes, and sweet cakes for our cafés, as well as for our conference and summer guests. We have a close collaboration between our units, and you are an important part of the whole by contributing to production. We are looking for someone who plans and works responsibly, focusing on good economics, reduced food waste, and achieving our environmental goals. The role also includes customer contact, cash handling, cleaning, and ordering supplies. You are expected to follow hygiene routines and have good knowledge of food handling. You will be responsible for the daily operations and ensure that both baking and service maintain high quality.

Requirements

• Completed high school education in baking/pastry, or equivalent work experience as assessed by the employer
• At least 1-2 years of previous experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of baking, menu planning, customer meetings, and cash handling
• Good knowledge of HACCP, food handling, and kitchen hygiene

Meritorious

• Experience mentoring youth/young adults

Good to Know

The position is a 100% temporary position starting from the turn of the year or by agreement. The temporary position lasts until 2027-09-30. The position also includes weekend work.
