Your New Job

We are looking for a cook for Ölmstad School.

You will be part of a team consisting of 1 head cook, 2 cooks, and 1 kitchen assistant, preparing meals for approximately 330 students and a preschool in the same building with 6 departments. Together, you will work on planning, preparing, and cooking meals that not only satisfy taste buds but also promote health, well-being, and learning. Our school prioritizes sustainability and locally sourced ingredients, and we hope you have a knack for varying the menu to suit children in school.

Examples of Job Responsibilities:

• Serve delicious and well-prepared food.
• Cook meals from scratch according to current guidelines for breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
• Create meals that are healthy, environmentally sustainable, and flavorful.
• Participate in planning a nutritious menu and ordering relevant supplies.
• Be a good ambassador for the kitchen by involving children in meals.
• Integrate meals into children's learning.
• Have the opportunity to influence young people's eating habits and health for a healthy life.
• Collaborate in a kitchen team of cooks to prepare food for the school.
• Other tasks as required in a kitchen.

As an employee in Jönköping Municipality's food organization, you belong to a geographical area that includes several kitchens. You have a primary placement in one kitchen where you usually work. When circumstances change and the situation requires it, you may need to step in at other kitchens outside of your primary placement.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone who:

• Has completed a culinary education
• Is self-sufficient and can work independently.
• Has good knowledge of special diets and allergens.
• Has good communication skills with children and educators.
• Experience from large kitchens or similar is an advantage
• Has very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
• Basic IT skills.

A very important quality we are looking for is flexibility and the ability to help where needs may arise.
