Skåne Stadsmission is a non-profit organization working to create a more humane society for all. We provide emergency assistance with basic needs such as food, clothing, hygiene, healthcare, and housing, as well as professional support for long-term change. Our goal is to give everyone new life chances, empower them, and enable them to participate in society. Skåne Stadsmission currently has over 125 permanent employees and approximately 275 private volunteers and 126 corporate volunteers, with a turnover of about 120 million SEK. We are one of ten members of the National Association of Sweden's Stadsmissioner, sharing values and a brand platform.

The activities of the Stadsmission are financed through IOP (Idea-driven Public Partnership), agreements, grants, project funds, sales of goods and services, and funds raised from companies and individuals.

Job Responsibilities

You will be part of a team where close and effective collaboration with a strong focus on safety is essential for the work to flow smoothly and be as safe as possible for participants, staff, and volunteers.

At Mötesplats Vuxen Café David, we offer people experiencing homelessness and social vulnerability, as well as those with mental health issues and/or substance abuse, a calm and safe place to be. We provide both professional and humane support, emergency assistance in the form of clean clothes, shower and laundry facilities, as well as social community. The café serves free breakfast, subsidized lunch, and snacks. We also have a counselor, nurse, doctor, and physiotherapist on site who can offer conversations, advice, healthcare, and security.

At Natt Jouren, we provide a calm and safe place for people in acute homelessness. Natt Jouren meets urgent needs in the form of food, clothing, laundry and shower facilities, as well as a social community and a safe bed for the night.

In both operations, we support individuals in the long-term work of changing their life situations and are available as needed to assist with contact with authorities and relatives.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with solid and previous professional experience in meeting people in extreme vulnerability, such as dependency issues, mental health problems, or comorbidity. You have a humane perspective, and your focus is based on the needs and rights of the participants in the organization.

You are experienced in handling and defusing conflicts and have a dignified, friendly, affirming, yet clear approach. You have experience and a commitment to meet and motivate participants towards positive change.

Education (degree or ongoing): social worker, social educator, nurse, nursing assistant, or equivalent with experience related to dependency and mental health.

A driver's license is required.

A criminal record check is a requirement before employment can be offered.

Language skills are an asset, as well as in-depth knowledge/experience working with human rights and a good understanding of the needs of our target groups.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Employment Type

Hourly employment. We are currently looking for hourly substitutes for our operations.

At Mötesplats Vuxen Café David, working hours are scheduled as follows: Monday-Friday 07:00-18:15, Saturday and Sunday, and all public holidays 07:00-14:00.

At Natt Jouren, working hours are scheduled for awake/sleeping night shifts 19:30-07:30. Both operations are open 365 days a year.
