The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. No matter where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you contribute to creating life-changing transformations.

SiS Youth Home Vemyra, located outside Sollefteå, accommodates school-age boys up to 16 years old with psychosocial problems as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.

Job Description

Do you want to take on a challenge with a unique mission in an exciting environment and in a smaller context? At SiS Youth Home Vemyra, we run our own school in combination with treatment for young people placed in round-the-clock care. Collaboration between the school and the departments is crucial for how well we succeed in motivating the youth to turn a negative development into something that can provide better conditions for a good life. The school consists of a principal, teachers, study and career counselors, and special educators who collaboratively plan, teach, evaluate, and develop the schoolwork at the institution. Mentoring responsibilities are also included in the teaching role. There is also a student health team, and the institution provides its own health care with a nurse, psychologist, and doctor.

Qualifications

You have a teaching degree and experience teaching home economics in grades 7-9. Other primary school subjects are an advantage. You have worked with students who need special support.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability, where you are prepared to focus on building good relationships with the students. We work a lot with motivation creation and therefore design lessons where the students' creativity and participation are in focus.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment according to agreement.

Application:

Welcome to register your application in our recruitment tool.

We will start interviews during the application period.

SiS actively works against all forms of discrimination and welcomes all applicants.
