The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with addiction. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with addiction, across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Långanäs receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and addiction.
Job Description
SiS Youth Home Långanäs is expanding its operations and therefore needs more hourly substitutes who can come and work as needed!
Do you want to help create the vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth/clients to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth/clients, and you are responsible for the foundation of daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You help maintain order and safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth/clients receive the safety and security they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule of days, evenings, and weekends.
As a new employee, you will receive a three-day introduction and shadowing in the department to ensure you have the right conditions for your work.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to vital change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathy, and an ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You should also have:
- At least a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
- B driver's license
- Good Swedish in speech and writing
Meritorious are:
- Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., Correctional Officer
- Security guard training
- Training in health and care
- Experience working with youth

*Exceptions to the requirement for at least a two-year post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment:
The position is as an hourly substitute where you can be booked at short notice when needs arise. Start date according to agreement.
