The healthcare emergency center in Värmland is a newly established unit located in Karlstad. Approximately 55,000 ambulance missions are carried out annually in Värmland for the region's nearly 300,000 inhabitants. We always work with a patient focus and create good conditions for employees in healthcare. Our goal is to always have a secure patient who knows the next step in the healthcare chain. The unit operates in newly renovated premises with modern technology.

Your responsibilities

We are looking for nurses for the healthcare emergency center in Värmland. As a nurse at the emergency center, you will receive calls regarding care and people in crisis from the emergency number 112. The assignment means that you must ensure that patients receive the right care at the right level with the right resources at the right time. It is a challenging job where you support callers with everything from birth to the end of life. Sometimes it is urgent and an immediate ambulance is needed, in other cases, a referral to another level of care or provider may be what helps the patient best. It is your task as a nurse to make these assessments over the phone based on your previous experiences in healthcare.

The positions are permanent employment with the workplace located in Karlstad.

Your skills and competencies

You must be a licensed nurse with at least one year of professional experience. You are a person who works with a clear patient focus and have good knowledge of Region Värmland's healthcare.

We are looking for someone who is stress-resistant, flexible, and attentive, who wants to be at the center of events and help people in need. You master the Swedish language fully in both speech and writing and have good knowledge of English. You should have good computer skills and master the basics of the most common Office programs. We work in an IT-intensive environment with several different systems that you will receive training in upon employment. Therefore, it is a prerequisite that you, as an applicant, find it easy to learn new working methods and data systems.

It is important that you, as an applicant, are good at collaborating between different care providers, all to help the patient in the best way. You will be involved in creating good conditions for the staff working pre-hospital, and a prerequisite is that you want to work together as a team and contribute to continuous improvements and develop the unit and its working methods. The most important thing is that we are right for each other. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and appreciate humility, clarity, and accuracy.

It is particularly meritorious if you have experience from working in ambulance care or pre-hospital experience. Additional language skills beyond Swedish and English are also seen as meritorious.
