Step into the role As a key player at MilDef, you will lead and develop our electronics engineering team, ensuring that we continue to drive innovation and excellence in embedded systems. This role is crucial to our success as it not only enhances our internal capacity but also directly contributes to the company's growth and revenue. You will lead by example, acting both as a mentor and lead designer, and fostering a collaborative and agile environment within the team. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a growing electronics team consisting of seven experienced, self-sufficient, and competent engineers, as well as onboard new employees
• Act as the lead designer, conducting requirements analysis and overall design
• Plan and coordinate tasks with your team
• Drive methodology development, implement and refine best practices
• Provide project managers with necessary updates and information
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and manage stand-up meetings
• Join the Engineering management team and participate in budget work
• Take responsibility for tools that are critical to the electronics discipline

What you bring

• Experience as a team leader or similar leadership role. We also welcome those looking to take the step into their first managerial position
• A proactive approach, always ready to tackle challenges and find solutions
• Extensive knowledge of embedded systems development
• Experience working with agile methods, prioritizing efficiency and continuous improvements
• Expertise in electronic design with strong analytical skills and attention to integrity in your work. Good experience in design reviews
• A business-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, promoting unity and collaboration within the team
• A degree in electronics engineering or a related field
