Our Operations

On the Acute Care Unit 30C (AVA), we care for patients primarily with internal medicine diagnoses. We have 24 care places divided into 4 teams. Patients come to us after an initial assessment in the emergency department, or after care in the intensive care unit or intermediate care unit. The lengths of stay are short, which means a high turnover of patients that must be planned and coordinated. We actively work with person-centered care where the patient is part of the team. Patients have complex health conditions, often with multiple diseases simultaneously.

Our patients are treated and monitored for about five days. We treat patients with chest pain, arrhythmias, heart failure, infections, diabetes, pulmonary embolisms, and venous thrombosis. It is a varied job where you constantly meet new patients with different types of ailments and the pace of work varies.

Your Mission

As a nursing assistant, you will perform nursing tasks and be responsible for basic care, working in a team with nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and dietitians. You will be placed in a team where you care for 5-6 patients together with a nurse.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a nursing student who has completed at least semester 3 or longer. You have experience working with care and preferably have an interest and previous experience in emergency care. We are also looking for you who are a medical student in year 6 or longer with previous experience in nursing work, preferably in inpatient care.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with a flexible approach, good collaboration skills, and who finds high patient turnover an exciting and enjoyable challenge. You are meticulous, empathetic, and enjoy close patient care. You focus on the patient, are responsible, and motivated in your work.

We Offer

We offer you a temporary full-time position from week 26 to 33. Introduction for 2 weeks starting from week 23-24 with both theoretical and practical training for your upcoming assignment. Working hours will be scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. Night shifts may also be possible in agreement with the employee. We expect you to work at least 5 out of 8 summer weeks. There is also an opportunity to continue working in the department after the summer!
