Department Manager for Our Packing Hall

We are looking for an engaged and experienced department manager for our packing hall that handles our newspapers and package production from our jointly owned brand Early Bird. In this role, you will lead our packing team, ensure efficient work processes, and contribute to timely and high-quality inbound and outbound deliveries. We are looking for someone with experience in change management who thrives in a dynamic environment that is constantly changing.

Responsibilities:

  • Personnel responsibility, scheduling/staffing planning.
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve set goals.
  • Plan and monitor day/evening/night shifts to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement and improve logistics processes to optimize flow.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance customer experience.
  • Analyze and report key performance indicators and results to senior management.
  • Quality responsibility within the area.
  • Work environment responsibility according to task delegation.

This is a full-time position, working hours are 15:00-23:00 Monday to Thursday, and 8:00-17:00 on Fridays.

You will report to the site manager and will work in a fast-paced, event-driven, and varied environment in our newly built terminal, which is 4500 sqm in Linköping, Torvinge. You will work alongside a team of department managers for distribution and transportation operations. We prefer candidates with prior experience in terminal management and an understanding of the entire process. Qualifications:

  • Experience leading and motivating teams, preferably in logistics or a similar industry.
  • Ability to plan and monitor daily operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify problems and find effective solutions quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively to team members and other departments.
  • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other departments to improve operations.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with logistics systems and tools used to track and manage packages.
  • Relevant education in logistics or substantial experience that we consider equivalent.
  • Understanding of and ability to implement safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to analyze key performance indicators and results.

A valid driver's license (B) is required; forklift certification is a plus.
