Meal Service is an operation within the municipal executive office and runs restaurants and kitchens in preschools, primary schools, high schools, senior restaurants, and residences within care and support services. Vänge School with preschools has a new modern, easy-to-work-in, and well-equipped kitchen with good structure and order, where there are all opportunities to prepare and develop meals. In the kitchen, lunch and snacks are prepared for about 160 preschool children and their educators, as well as for the school's approximately 350 students and their educators. Here you will have the chance to influence the meals for the youngest children and also for the school's students in grades F-6. You will inspire the children to try new things, a fun and important task.

Your Mission

You will work in a team consisting of two chefs and two meal assistants. Your tasks will include planning, preparing, and cooking our salad buffet according to Meal Service guidelines, as well as planning and making purchases of food in our purchasing portal. You will assist our chefs in cooking. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for the operation's self-control program and perform daily checks in I-Facts. We think sustainably and measure waste every day, which is reported in Mashie.

Your tasks also include packing deliveries for our receiving kitchen, working in the serving area, and other usual tasks in a kitchen. You will present the food in an appealing way when served to guests and keep yourself updated on the ingredients in the food to ensure that guests have an allergy-safe and pleasant meal.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with several years of experience working in a kitchen. Experience in the service industry is considered an advantage. The job requires good knowledge of the Swedish language. You also need to have good knowledge of food hygiene. We would like you to have good computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Mashie, or other digital IT support for kitchens. A B driver's license is also considered an advantage.

As a person, you are service-oriented, calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You have the ability to see the bigger picture and address issues from a broader perspective. Furthermore, you are good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work. The job suits you if you collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner.
