At all our Norlandia Preschools, we work health-promoting, which also permeates our preschools that offer nutritious and good food prepared by our trained chefs through our food concept MatMedSmak. All food is prepared on-site with fine ingredients and a lot of love.

We view our chefs as fantastic resources that add value and enjoyment to the operation and to the meal. To create joy in food and a good experience, the focus is on the entire meal.

We want to establish lifelong positive food experiences for the children in our preschools and awaken children's curiosity about exciting flavors and develop their sensory abilities. This means that we sometimes challenge the children regarding menu choices and flavoring.

As a chef, you are part of a network that meets regularly to discuss issues related to food, menu development, and continuing education together with other chefs from Norlandia's preschools in Uppsala.

Examples of common tasks

• Preparation and serving of all meals at the preschool.

• Cleaning according to cleaning routines and dishwashing.

• Preparation of special diets.

• Baking of bread and cooking for family services.

• Purchasing of food items and planning.

• Daily work with self-control/HACCP/Requirements

• Participate in the further development of our meal concept Mat med Smak.

We offer you

We provide you with work clothes in the form of a chef's jacket, work pants, and work shoes.

Qualifications and personal qualities

• High school education in restaurant and catering or equivalent work experience.

• Training in self-control and food hygiene.

• When working in a preschool, a current extract from the police's criminal record is required to be presented at the interview.

• Good knowledge in preparing special diets

• You are a secure and responsible person who has an approach and attitude towards both adults and children that aligns well with the preschool's values.

• You have good knowledge as a chef and a desire to develop our family services at the preschool.

• You are solution-oriented, positive, and a driven person with ambitions and joy in your work!

• You enjoy taking responsibility and find it easy to collaborate with your colleagues.

• You are an engaged and positive person who can build trust with children and guardians.

• You also have a good ability to communicate in Swedish, both spoken and written.

• Employment type: Permanent with an initial 6-month probationary period
• Extent: FULL TIME
• Working hours: DAYTIME
• Start date: as soon as possible

We apply individual salary setting and have a collective agreement. Interviews are conducted continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Upon employment, an extract from the criminal record is required.

If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
