JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a skilled cook looking for a meaningful and developing assignment? Then we can offer you a creative and varied job where you can actively contribute to creating a better everyday life for our elderly. We are now looking for three cooks for our two production kitchens in the Nordost district.

Your main tasks include cooking from scratch, including baking, special diets, and texture-adapted food. Serving, dishwashing, and some administrative tasks are also included in the daily work. You will be part of a team where good cooperation is important, and everyone helps with the tasks in the kitchen. Our menus are seasonal, and we actively work to avoid food waste.

Workplace Descriptions

At Fjällbo Park Central Kitchen, nearly 350 portions of lunch, dessert, and dinner are prepared daily for our care and nursing homes in Eastern Gothenburg, as well as preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, and snacks for Fjällboskolan's approximately 400 students. Meals are also prepared and delivered to activities within the social administration and the administration for functional support. The staff group consists of a head chef who leads and distributes the work in the group, twelve cooks, and two meal assistants.

Gunnared's kitchen is a production kitchen with an attached restaurant. Approximately 200 lunch portions, including dessert and dinner, are prepared daily in the kitchen. Most of the diners are residents of care and nursing homes in Angered, but we also prepare and deliver meals to activities within the administration for functional support. The staff group consists of seven cooks, including yourself, one meal assistant, and a head chef who leads and distributes the work in the group. Working hours are daytime according to a rotating schedule, and you work every third weekend.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a trained cook with several years of experience in the profession. You are confident and have a good sense of taste, and you master traditional and vegetarian cooking well. Good knowledge and previous experience in special diets are a requirement for the position. You have good knowledge of food handling and self-control and apply good and safe food hygiene in large kitchens.

Communication with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and diners is an important part of the assignment, which means that you master the Swedish language well in both speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience working with food for the elderly, texture-adapted food, and knowledge of the nutritional needs of the elderly.

You have good computer skills and can handle email, purchasing, and ordering programs as well as food data systems used in the business.

You communicate clearly, are good at collaborating, and have a good attitude towards everyone you meet in your professional role. You are service-oriented, find solutions, and want to help. You are driven and work independently and solution-focused within the framework of your assignment and meet set goals on time.

You see the business from a holistic perspective and contribute creatively to driving the business forward together with your colleagues. You have the ability to see opportunities in changes and can easily adapt your working methods based on changed conditions and create understanding among others.
