What does the job of an occupational therapist at Norlandia Elderly Care entail?

As an occupational therapist, you are responsible for occupational therapy assessments aimed at restoring or maintaining the physical health of the elderly and preserving their functions. You work rehabilitatively and functionally to strengthen the elderly's independence and quality of life. You are responsible for the evaluation and prescription of aids and medical technical products, as well as training and guidance for nursing staff regarding rehabilitative approaches, ergonomics, and transfer techniques.

Documentation, follow-up, and evaluation of interventions, as well as collaboration with other actors in the care chain, are part of the profession. It is a broad role with many contact points that requires independence and initiative. You will be part of the management team of the operation, alongside nurses, care staff, and the operations manager.

Norlandia has been entrusted by Värmdö Municipality to operate Slottsovalens Elderly Home starting September 1st. Slottsovalen has 40 places focused on individuals with dementia. The elderly home is beautifully located in Farstaviken.

• We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist.
• Previous experience as an occupational therapist in elderly care is an advantage.
• You need to have good knowledge of health and medical care regulations.
• You must have a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
• We would like you to have knowledge of documenting based on ICF and KVÅ.
• We want you to have good knowledge of the national quality registers relevant to the operations.
• A driving license is required for some positions.

Additional information

Employment type: Permanent with a six-month probationary period

Scope: 75-100% according to agreement

Start date: According to agreement

Probation: we apply a 6-month probationary period

We apply individual salary setting and have a collective agreement. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Before a possible employment, you must be able to present an extract from the criminal record. You also need to be able to prove that you have the right to work in Sweden by presenting EU/EES citizenship or a valid work permit.
