Tekniska verken is looking for an engaged designer within the water and sewage network (VA) who wants to work in a varied and significant role. Here you have the opportunity to combine detailed design work with the construction phase of the projects and thus contribute at all stages. Together with a competent and dedicated team, you will have the chance to influence both everyday life and the future – and make a real difference! 🌍
About Tekniska verken
As an employee at Tekniska verken, you are an important part of our vision - to build the world's most resource-efficient region. To succeed, we must dare to think innovatively and develop new, smarter solutions. We are a total of about 1,150 employees who thrive in a relaxed corporate culture characterized by our core values: driving, positive, and trustworthy.
Tekniska verken is part of the everyday life of over 230,000 private and business customers, and we deliver services that make life easier. We offer electricity networks, lighting, water, district heating, district cooling, waste management, broadband, biogas, efficient energy solutions, and electricity trading. Our vision is that Tekniska verken builds the world's most resource-efficient region, and together with our customers, we are on the right track.
About the department
You will be part of a dynamic and growing project department currently consisting of seven people, both VA designers and project managers, with plans to grow further. With expertise in water and sewage (VA), the department drives VA pipeline projects from idea to completed facility.
Our project portfolio consists of both new construction of pipelines in connection with detailed plans (development projects) and renewal of the existing VA pipeline network. Climate adaptations in urban environments are also a growing part of our project portfolio, where a changing climate places higher demands on our stormwater systems.
VA competence is a fundamental building block as the group strives towards ambitious goals. Together with your colleagues, you will have the opportunity to create real change.
Your responsibilities
As a designer for the VA pipeline network, you will be responsible for the technical design of the future VA pipeline network. The role includes both investigative and project management elements, but the focus is primarily on designing and technically shaping VA systems. The projects will vary, from renewing existing networks in urban areas to establishing new pipeline networks in untouched terrain. You may also work on projects related to climate adaptations, such as stormwater reservoirs or similar solutions, to meet future climate challenges. All types of projects place high demands on coordination with other infrastructure.
In short, your main tasks will include:
- Designing VA pipelines for new or renovation projects, including producing VA drawings, quantity lists, and administrative regulations.
- Performing calculations and dimensioning of VA systems.
- Support during procurement and implementation of VA contracts.
- Representing the VA principal at internal and external meetings, for example, at joint design meetings with various utility owners.
A unique advantage of the role is the opportunity to work on projects from start to completed facility. This means that after the design phase, you can also lead your own projects. You will collaborate with the contractor who will realize your drawings and solutions, giving you valuable insights and perspectives that contribute to your development as a VA designer.
Who are you?
To succeed in the role of VA designer, accuracy and an eye for detail are crucial for creating sustainable and feasible solutions. You have good self-awareness and a humble approach to your work, which allows you to constantly learn from each project. With a structured working method and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, you ensure that all parts maintain high quality and are well anchored in reality. You have the ability to see the big picture while being attentive to details that make a difference.
Your way of collaborating with colleagues, stakeholders, and external actors is a key factor for success in the projects.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree in engineering or civil engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience as a VA designer or equivalent position, such as land designer or district heating designer.
- AutoCAD or similar design tools.
- Fluent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- A valid driver's license (B).
Why Tekniska verken?
You will be part of a company that is constantly working to make a difference, for real! Here you will have a varied and meaningful job together with colleagues who value having fun at work.
