About Nytida Kasper Kollo

At Kasper Summer Camp, children, youth, and young adults with high-functioning autism, Asperger's syndrome, and/or mild intellectual disabilities come to enjoy two fun summer weeks. Here, they have the opportunity to try new activities and meet friends in a safe environment.

In addition to the summer camp, Kasper also has activities year-round in the form of weekend camps. Our camp locations are in Skåne and Östergötland.

Kasper Summer Camp is part of Nytida, one of Sweden's leading actors in LSS, SoL, and education, focusing on support and services for people with disabilities and psychosocial issues.

About the role

As the kitchen manager, your main responsibility is to provide the camp participants and leaders, a total of about 20 people, with lunch and dinner.

You are responsible for inventorying food items and planning the menu. You will plan meals based on the group's food preferences and allergies, and we also require that planning and cooking are based on reducing food waste and sustainability.

Furthermore, you are responsible for dishwashing and cleaning the kitchen, ensuring that the space meets the requirements set by the Food Agency.

You will work alone in the kitchen, but to ensure a smooth camp period for everyone involved, a high degree of cooperation is required. All staff always work with our participants' best interests in mind, which concretely means that you have knowledge of current allergies/food preferences, receive suggestions for desired meals, and can offer alternative dishes when needed.

You will have the option to order food items online that will be delivered to the camp.

Working hours vary and include both day and evening shifts. Each period lasts about two weeks, and we hope you can work two periods during the summer.

The employment is in the form of a fixed-term contract.

Workplace:

As the kitchen manager at Kasper Summer Camp, you will live with your colleagues at the camp location where you work. The living situation can be described as simple but cozy. You will share a room with 2-3 camp leaders. The workgroup consists of you as the kitchen manager and about 13 camp leaders.

Your experience and knowledge

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has an interest in cooking and experience in planning meals for larger groups (about 20 people). Previous cooking experience and kitchen skills are advantageous.

It is important that you are organized and structured; for our participants, it is essential that the food is familiar to them and served at the scheduled time. The work involves menu planning and inventorying food items, which requires your planning skills.

Solution-focused and flexibility are necessary as the schedule for outings and thus meal planning can change quickly.

As the kitchen manager, you will be part of a team of camp leaders, led by a supervisor. Together, you will all work towards the goal of ensuring our participants have the best possible summer.

You need to be able to attend the following meetings:Planning meeting: 7/5 (the date may change)Introductory training: 4/6 & 5/6.

Driver's License:

Since purchasing food items is part of the job, you are required to have a B driver's license.
