We are looking for an experienced consultant on behalf of our client to take on the role of Category Leader in strategic technical procurement in an international environment based in Gothenburg. The assignment involves driving and coordinating procurement efforts for technical materials and production equipment, focusing on cost efficiency, delivery reliability, and sustainability aspects. The role is central and involves close collaboration with both global and regional stakeholders, where you will be responsible for relationships with strategic suppliers and support internal project teams.

Responsibilities

As the Technical Procurement Category Leader, you will:

• Lead procurement and sourcing of technical materials and production equipment within larger CAPEX projects and consolidated purchases.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers and needs to drive long-term value creation and cost savings.
• Contribute to developing and implementing regional procurement strategies in line with global directives.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships through SRM, including qualification, follow-up, and improvement work.
• Perform commercial analyses and risk assessments to ensure the best possible Total Cost of Ownership.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with strategically important suppliers.
• Participate in improvement work and standardization of processes within technical procurement.
• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, legal requirements, and environmental and occupational health and safety regulations.
• Contribute to the implementation of sustainability initiatives and principles for responsible procurement.

Requirements:

• Academic degree in economics, finance, supply chain, or engineering.
• Documented experience in procurement and supply chain.
• Good knowledge of Procure-to-Pay/Source-to-Pay processes, financial analysis, and basic law.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Very good knowledge of the Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Meritorious:

• Experience leading extensive CAPEX projects.
• Previous work in international and cross-functional environments.
• Documented experience in high-level negotiations regarding technical materials and production equipment.
• Familiarity with intellectual property and supplier risk management.

Start date and application:

Start date: October 1, 2025

End date: March 31, 2026 (possibility of extension up to 12 months)

Scope: Full-time, approx. 39 hours/week

Location: Gothenburg, with the possibility of remote work up to 2 days/week after the first month
