We are an inpatient department providing oncological and pulmonary care in pleasant facilities in O-building, close to outpatient care, radiation therapy, and radiology.

In the oncology section, advanced treatments and oncological nursing are provided to adult patients with tumor diseases. The unit is part of the Southeast Health Care Region's competence center for cancer treatment and pulmonary medicine.

Our Offer

The oncology section conducts both elective and emergency activities and cares for patients in treatment and palliative stages. Oncological nursing is a central part of your work, including pain management and palliative care. The team cares for adult patients with various cancer diagnoses, which means your work will be varied and include many different tasks. These tasks include, among others, handling of cytostatics, administration of antibiotics, and transfusions, which are often given via central venous access.

In the department, there is a reception nurse and a coordinator who manages much of the administrative work. Furthermore, there are four lead nurses who have extra responsibility for you as a newcomer.

• Introduction is planned based on your previous experiences, approximately 4-5 weeks.
• You will have a mentor during your first year.

• Internal training occurs continuously to strengthen you in your role.

A pharmacist refills the medication cart, medication dispenser, and basic stock of medications. We also have a service host who manages ordering and refilling supplies. There is also a meal host in the unit.

Job Description

We are looking for someone who wants to work only night shifts with us. This could be for a shorter or longer period depending on your situation and preferences.

As a nurse, you work in a team with various professions. You are responsible for and lead the team in specific and basic nursing during your shift.

About You

You are a licensed nurse or licensed specialist nurse in oncology or medical care. At the Cancer and Lung Care Unit (CoL), there is an opportunity to develop both as a newcomer, experienced, and specialist.

You easily adapt to changing circumstances, can quickly change your perspective and approach, and see the possibilities in changes. You enjoy being part of a cross-professional team with the patient in focus, where all professional categories learn from each other. You have a good empathetic ability to understand someone else's perspective or situation without taking over the person's feelings.

We are looking for someone who can work independently and collaborates well with others. You create engagement and participation. You also have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively.

As you work in constant dialogue with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other operations, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing. You also need to be able to handle various IT systems.
