IT Security Officer at Northern Military Region Staff

About the Unit
The Intelligence and Security Department at the Northern Military Region Staff in Boden leads regional intelligence and security services in the four northernmost counties. The department is responsible for developing and sharing the regional security threat picture and planning, leading, and evaluating security controls within the region. Based on the current threat picture, the department develops security protection measures for the Armed Forces' protected values. The department is also responsible for leading signal protection services and supporting MUST and the operational management at the Armed Forces Headquarters regarding intelligence and security services.
Main Responsibilities
As an IT Security Officer, you will collaborate with various military units, authorities, and organizations within the security function. You will lead the area of IT security and participate in the security protection function with a focus on IT security. You will work with IT security through processing/analysis, advice, governance, training, and controls within the regional responsibility area. You will also work within other areas within the framework of security protection. You will assist in developing the regional/local security threat picture and participate in conducting security protection controls during military operations within the military region. You will also lead security investigations related to IT security and participate in security operations. You will conduct training in security services, both within the Armed Forces and at other authorities. You will also participate in other work at the Northern Military Region Staff. Your tasks may partially be solved abroad. The job involves travel in service. Your immediate supervisors are the section manager for the security protection section and the department head for the Intelligence and Security Department.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Good ability to use MS Office
- Driver's license class B, manual transmission
- Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
- High school diploma with passing grades
- Several years of work experience or several years of experience from post-secondary studies
Personal Qualities
We see that you have good social competence and the ability to develop and maintain contacts with representatives from authorities and organizations. The work requires that you have a very good ability to work independently and a good ability to plan, execute, and complete projects. You possess very good collaboration skills, are meticulous and results-oriented as you are expected to be part of temporary working groups. We also expect you to have good judgment, high personal integrity, be security-conscious, and have the ability to create and maintain trust. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Meritorious
- Completed security training/IT security training or equivalent
- Experience in IT security work and processing and analyzing information security threats and proposing relevant measures
- Experience in leading security investigations and confidentiality assessments
- Experience from working with security protection
- Previous experience from working within the Armed Forces or another authority conducting security-sensitive operations
- Knowledge of security functions in IT systems
- Completed military basic training

The Northern Military Region (MR N) is responsible for land territorial management in the four northern counties.
The region consists of a staff and five training groups. The operations extend from Kiruna in the north to Härnösand in the south. At MR N, there are seven home guard battalions and several support functions.
