Ottobock Care is one of Sweden's largest orthopedic technical companies with clinics in 20 locations across Sweden, and together with Ottobock, we are one of the world's leading suppliers in orthopedic technology. We receive patients via referrals as well as private individuals in need of prosthetics, orthoses, seating aids, and orthopedic shoes or insoles. At Ottobock Care in Gävle, there are currently 16 employees, of which 10 are patient handlers in various roles. We operate at Gävle Hospital and also have a workshop in Hudiksvall at Hudiksvall Hospital. We are involved in several multidisciplinary teams and have good cooperation with, among others, pediatric rehabilitation, the diabetes team, and orthopedics. We are a strong team characterized by good cohesion and a cheerful spirit.

About the position

As a Licensed Orthopedic Engineer, your main task will be patient reception with the fitting of all types of orthopedic technical aids. You will be involved in developing our operations, which can range from our product range to improving our processes. In your role, you will collaborate with other healthcare personnel within the region and you will also participate in our on-call operations towards the hospital.

You will work in a dynamic environment characterized by deep knowledge and high professional pride. At Ottobock Care in Gävle, you will work broadly with all types of aids but also have the opportunity to specialize in certain areas. If necessary, you will receive support from our employees, many of whom have long experience in the industry.

We offer

The position is a permanent employment with placement in Gävle. Working hours according to schedule, daytime. Start date for the position is by agreement. We have a collective agreement which means that you are covered by collective agreement insurance. Travel in the service may occur.

If you are newly graduated from the Orthopedic Engineering program, you will have the opportunity to participate in a 2-year trainee program with us. As an orthopedic engineer with us, you can also apply for a place in one of our competence teams.

About you

We are looking for someone who is a trained Licensed Orthopedic Engineer. Certification and degree from the orthopedic engineering program in Jönköping or equivalent is a requirement for your application to be considered. Exceptions apply to those who are newly graduated and have not yet received certification from the National Board of Health and Welfare. Experience working as an orthopedic engineer is an advantage. You have good computer skills and are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.

You easily show understanding for others and can put yourself in someone else's perspective without taking over the person's feelings. In your work, you take independent responsibility for your tasks, drive your own processes, and ensure they are completed. You see opportunities in change and can easily adapt to new circumstances and quickly change your approach. You work proactively, independently, and turn ideas into practical action. You bring ideas and new perspectives on work-related issues that can be implemented in practice and lead to results.
