Our client is a Swedish high-tech company in the defense industry, specializing in the development of advanced marine products and systems for underwater environments. They work with torpedoes, mine systems, and autonomous or remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV/AUV).

The products operate in extreme environments beneath the water surface, which places high demands on both construction, software, and analysis. Innovation, precision, and reliability permeate the entire development chain.

We are looking for a senior software developer with extensive experience – but also the curiosity and drive to continue growing. You will become a key person in an agile development team, where you have the opportunity to take technical responsibility and influence the choice of methods, technologies, and solutions. The projects involve complex marine systems – where the software is central to functionality, safety, and performance. Depending on your background and interests, there is an opportunity to work with areas such as: - Hardware-near programming in C/C++ - Control of sensors, real-time logic, and communication - Signal processing and autonomous behaviors - Modeling and simulation of advanced environments - Building internal tools and development platforms - Architecture and design of common software components - Driving DevOps and automation - AI support in development and testing processes. There is no locked role description here – you have great freedom to shape your direction depending on where you want to contribute the most.

- Civil or university engineer, or equivalent practical experience - At least 5 years of experience in software development - Deep competence in C and/or C++ - Fluent Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good technical English - Ability to take overall responsibility for technical solutions. Experience in embedded development, system architecture, and CI/CD with automated testing is meritorious. Knowledge of Python, Rust, Ada, or Qt, as well as model-based development (e.g., xtUML) is also advantageous. As a person, you are analytical, curious, and structured, enjoy working in teams, and contribute to an open and unpretentious culture. You have a broad interest in technology, want to understand the whole picture, and are driven to improve, take initiative, and ensure long-term quality and scalability.
