About the role

As the Head of Design, you will lead and develop our design department, which consists of seven designers working on the new and further development of Lämneå Bruk's products. You are responsible for ensuring high quality and efficiency in all projects, in close collaboration with our sales organization. Our products are 100% customized, and collaboration with our salespeople and project managers is an important part of your role. You report to the CEO and work closely with our technical manager, as well as having extensive contact points with both our production departments and our sales organization. Our designers work in IronCAD, from detail drawings and complete assemblies to layouts of entire production units. You will be driving the work to develop our wire drawing machines, which often have a high degree of customization. As the Head of Design, you have the opportunity to closely observe the entire production chain, from idea to finished product. We handle all design and manufacturing and create all customized production materials in-house.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the design department, including personnel responsibility, skills development, and resource planning.
• Being responsible for technical product development from concept to finished product.
• Ensuring that design and construction meet both customer requirements and various production demands.
• Driving improvement projects and developing our work processes to increase efficiency in the department's work.
• Collaborating closely with the production manager, sales organization, technical manager, and CEO.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has an engineering degree in mechanical engineering or another qualification we consider equivalent.
• Has documented experience leading teams and/or driving technical projects.
• Has solid knowledge of CAD tools; experience with our CAD system IronCAD is a plus.
• Is an engaged and communicative leader with a strong technical interest and a desire to develop and motivate your team.
