About the Workplace

Sörgården in Mönsterås AB is a special housing facility located in the picturesque Ålem church village, just a few kilometers from Kalmarsund. We provide support and care to individuals living with psychiatric diagnoses or co-occurring disorders – that is, both psychiatric issues and substance use disorders.

Our support is tailored to each individual's needs. We work with a low-arousal approach as a foundation and strive to create safety, stability, and development for our residents. An important part of our work is to offer activities and opportunities for development based on the resident's own conditions, as well as to work to strengthen each person's independence and participation in daily life.

We are also about to start a new support housing for individuals with co-occurring disorders. For those with the right skills and experience in the area of addiction, there is an opportunity to eventually work there as well.

Job Responsibilities

As a waking night staff, you are responsible for safety and care during the night hours. Your tasks include:

• Being a support for residents as needed during the night.
• Ensuring supervision, care interventions, and handling emergency situations professionally.
• Contributing to a calm and safe environment for the residents.
• Documenting events and interventions in the journal system.
• Collaborating with day and evening staff to create continuity and safety in care.

The job as waking night staff involves significant personal responsibility and requires presence, security, and the ability to remain calm even in difficult situations.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience in care and support work, preferably in psychiatry and/or co-occurring disorders.
• Has a good ability to work independently but also collaborate in a team.
• Is calm, secure, and responsible.
• Has patience and the ability to meet people professionally in vulnerable situations.

Meritorious:

• Education as a nursing assistant or equivalent.
• ESL training (An Independent Life).
• Further education in psychiatry and/or addiction.
