About the Position

Uvån Hagfors Teknologi AB is looking for a technically strong designer for the role of Lead Mechanical Designer. You will act as a technical coordinator in projects spanning the globe, from the quotation stage to the finished product. The role involves working operationally with design while also serving as a supportive force within the team, responsible for driving the technical work forward.

You will be based in the office in Kista but are expected to regularly work from the workshop in Hagfors, where both testing activities and manufacturing-related dialogue with assemblers take place. It is a varied role where you have a central position in ensuring technical quality and collaboration between designers, suppliers, and workshop resources.

Your Future Responsibilities You will work hands-on with design and be a technical engine in the daily work. You will also contribute to structure, technical choices, and task distribution within the team. You will be working with:

• Design in SolidWorks with associated PDM systems (PDM Enterprise)
• Technical coordination in projects, from idea to finished solution
• Prototype assembly and technical dialogue with assemblers in Hagfors
• Collaboration with suppliers and consultants in Sweden and Europe
• Contributing to method development and quality assurance in design
• Supporting and being a technical sounding board for more junior colleagues

We are looking for someone who has a degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent, along with several years of experience in mechanical design in an industrial environment. You are proficient in 3D-CAD, preferably SolidWorks, and have worked in structured environments with PDM systems.

You have technical depth, a structured approach, and a desire to coach and drive technology forward. Experience in project management, working with external suppliers, and understanding manufacturing processes is advantageous.

• Start: By agreement.
• Location: Kista, Stockholm. Travel to the workshop in Hagfors as well as to customers and suppliers is part of the job.
