Role Description: Who you are: • A person that has extensive proven experience in providing architectural and technical leadership in a DevOps, CI/CD landscape with a complex setup involving many different applications, infrastructure, cloud, and other services. • At the same time, be capable to do hands-on work with complex technical issues. • You understand the importance of having enterprise solutions that are scalable, sustainable, architecturally sound, you care about quality, and you know what it means to ship high quality code. • Drive, implement, and support overarching architectural guidelines. • Work closely across several organisations and teams within Volvo Cars. • Bring expertise in your field and a go-to person for setting strategic directions. • Be a mentor, role model and co-driver for senior engineers and leaders in the organization. • Be an inspiring leader in the engineering domain. • Demonstrate and champion an appetite for knowledge, being up to date with best practices and the latest industry standards - never stop developing as an Engineer and leader. • You see strong and transparent collaboration with people, communities, and organizations as a key success factor.

Key skills: • CI/CD toolchain; knowledge in building robust and scalable DevOps pipelines. Hosted tools such as Gerrit, Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube but also in-house developed applications. • Cloud knowledge in Azure and AWS. • Particularly good knowledge of software development lifecycle (extra merit for in-vehicle or embedded software) • Scripting and programming background (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc) • Understanding of software security principles. • Knowledge and experience in orchestration platforms like Kubernetes • Ability to communicate and present architectural solutions to cross-functional teams (developers, security, quality, test). • Skilled in balancing technical depth with system-level overviews for different stakeholders. Meriting • Being familiar with software quality and safety standards such as ISO26262. • Understanding of car platform software architecture and protocols. • Knowledge in GitOps, IaC and infrastructure automation. • Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) • Knowledge in data management principles and setting up service health checks and pipeline observability.
