SSS (Naval Warfare School) is looking for individuals who want to be employed as cooks and sailors aboard brigs or training ships.

About the Unit

The Naval Warfare School (SSS) supports the naval units with training, development, and unit training. The school conducts training that includes basic soldier and sailor training, basic officer training (officer program and specialist officer training), Higher Specialist Officer Training (HSOU), as well as vocational and position training for employed personnel. The focus of SSS's activities is on the naval units' ability to engage in armed combat.

The brigs, HMS Gladan and HMS Falken, are two sailing vessels that conduct seamanship/navigation training, while the training ships of the Altair type conduct navigation training, all belonging to the Naval Warfare School based in the naval city of Karlskrona.

Main Responsibilities

As a cook on board, your main responsibility is to prepare food in the ship's galley, together with the other cooks, but the position also requires the ability to work independently. As an employed sailor, you will have additional tasks, known as ancillary duties, and you are expected to take responsibility and manage a high work pace. We also see that you are curious, attentive, and have the ability to take initiative.

Qualifications:

Swedish citizen
Approved military basic training (completed or ongoing) with a recommendation for employment
Trained cook (work experience is an advantage)
Approved background check (conducted after interview/tests)
High school diploma with passing grades

More About the Employment

The position is a GSS/Sailor fixed-term employment at 100% with an average 40-hour work week. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.
