to apply for the job
SSAB is preparing for the fossil-free transition, and we need more electricians/automation electricians today. This fall, we will start a trainee program for electricians, where you will work practically for a year with various tasks in one or more maintenance sections at SSAB, combined with training. After the trainee program, you will continue working in one of our maintenance sections. Location: Borlänge.
Becoming part of the SSAB family means embarking on a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the planet's future and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for our societal development and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges that connect our cities, and in tomorrow's cars. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. Therefore, we have developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production, and by around 2030, we will be virtually fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contributing to a green transition of the entire steel industry.
About the position
As an electrician/automation electrician at SSAB, you will primarily work with preventive and corrective maintenance and condition monitoring of all electrical equipment, control, and drive systems, making you a vital part of the preventive maintenance work at SSAB Borlänge.
You will work in one of several sections that perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance. Together with your team, you will drive the development and improvement of condition-based and preventive maintenance within your area. Smaller projects may also be part of the assignment.
In your daily work, you will administratively use our maintenance system IFS to plan work orders and order spare parts. You will schedule service and perform repairs on all electrical equipment. Measurement technology, data analysis, and condition monitoring of our process lines are also part of the job.
Your working hours are daytime with the possibility of flexibility.
This is a permanent position, and a probationary period may apply.
Selection and interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period.

- You will receive a contractual salary as a regular electrician throughout the training.
- The trainee program runs from 2025-02-01 to 2026-01-31, after which you will continue working in one of our maintenance sections.
About you
- You have a high school education in electricity, automation, control/regulation technology, or drive systems, or equivalent documented knowledge in electricity.
- Experience in networks and IT systems is desirable but not required. You can be newly graduated or established with many years in the profession.
