About TrackPaw – why we exist

At TrackPaw, we are developing something that has never been done before, a system that allows for detailed tracking of research animals – completely without disturbing them. A challenging mix of hardware, software, biology, and data – and that’s what we love! Our solution works like a kind of smartwatch for animals, where integrated weight sensors and RFID readers collect all data.

This means something bigger than just technology. With our system, researchers can better understand how the animals are doing, detect changes early, and track development in a whole new way. The result is more reliable research, faster drug development, and ultimately new treatments for people who need them. In short: we are building a technology that makes a real difference.

The Role – what you will do

You will be responsible for designing and validating our signal processing – from collected sensor data to finished metrics that our customers use every day. This involves taking in data from weight sensors and RFID, understanding what is happening, building robust and transparent algorithms, and ensuring it holds all the way to production. We have hardware out with our customers, a system streaming in data, and a large database to work with. You are expected to drive the work of analyzing, modeling, and productizing insights. You will work closely with both the tech team and the customers. You will have great freedom, significant responsibility, and an opportunity to truly make an impact.

Who you are

We are looking for someone who is curious, analytical, and enjoys solving real problems. You have a technical background – perhaps in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or mathematics – and a few years of experience working with signal processing, algorithms, machine learning, or statistics. Experience handling time series data or noisy sensors is a plus, as is knowledge of embedded systems.

You should be comfortable with Python (for analysis and visualization) and C (for implementation), or have the ability to quickly pick up what you don’t yet know. The role also involves some customer contact, often in English, so we would like you to be comfortable communicating in English and enjoying social settings. Are you a bit more junior but have clear potential and strong drive? Then we would love to hear from you too.
