Surgery and Urology, Inpatient Care
Welcome to a fun, educational, and varied workplace with a fantastic team! We are looking for nurses who want to work in a surgical and urological inpatient department.
Here, we provide acute and elective care within urology and surgical specialties, including breast, ear-nose-throat, and eye care. We also function as Gotland's trauma department.
We work in various ways to strengthen surgical nursing care to create an attractive workplace and safer care for patients.
We give you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in different areas and encourage new ideas. We offer regular continuing education on the ward as well as various relevant training sessions elsewhere. All nurses are offered training in trauma care in the form of TNCC, as well as the opportunity to attend training and conferences relevant to the operation.
If you do not live in Gotland but are interested in coming here to work, we can offer assistance with housing initially through our housing service.
Your Responsibilities
As a nurse in the surgical and urology department, you will collaborate closely with the nursing assistants as well as with your team consisting of doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and social workers. Together, you will work with a focus on the patient and based on their needs.
You are a key person in the department and have nursing responsibility for the patient as well as an educational responsibility for junior colleagues. The tasks vary greatly and are often medically technical. The position will include day and evening shifts with a certain proportion of night shifts. It also includes working every other weekend.
Who Are You?
You are a licensed nurse with at least 15 years of experience in surgical care.
We see that you have good collaboration skills, contribute to and utilize the team's collective competence in collaboration with other professions. You are communicative and convey information clearly and simply, both verbally and in writing. You are proactive and foresee problems, develop alternative plans and activities, and see development opportunities for both the operation and your own growth. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
